NOB_Khammam: The All India Kisan Mazdoor Sabha (AIKMS) organized a massive rally in Khammam on Sunday as part of its 4th National Conference, with participation of peasants, agricultural workers, tribals and landless labourers from 11 states.

The 3 km rally, which began at Parade Grounds and concluded at SR&BGNR College grounds, named after veteran revolutionary Com Ryala Subhash Chandra Bose ‘Ravi’, witnessed red flags, slogans and cultural performances highlighting the struggles of rural India.

Addressing the public meeting, AIKMS leaders demanded distribution of surplus land to the landless, implementation of Forest Rights Act, MSP as per Swaminathan Commission formula of C2+50% with guaranteed procurement, debt waiver and protection of tribal rights. They strongly opposed corporate penetration in agriculture, fertilizer subsidy cuts, hike in electricity charges and dilution of Gram Sabha powers.

The leaders alleged that the Modi Government waived Rs 19 lakh crore loans for corporates while farmers are committing suicides due to debt burden. They termed G RAM G as an attempt to kill the Right to Work under MNREGA.

AIKMS National President V. Venkatramaiah, General Secretary Dr. Ashish Mital, Vice Presidents Nirbhay Singh, Sushant Jha, JV Chalapati Rao and leaders from Punjab, Bihar, Odisha, UP, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Kerala addressed the rally.
