
NOB-Suryapet news: District SP Narasimha, IPS, disclosed the details of the case and the arrests during a media conference held at the District Police Office. Speaking on the occasion, the SP stated that the accused Kanchukommula Santhosh, Kanchukommula Ganesh, Shaik Nasreen, and Kanchukommula Saikiran had formed a gang. Their modus operandi involved stealing auto rickshaws, traveling in the stolen vehicles, and targeting elderly women traveling alone. They would threaten these women to steal their jewellery. Furthermore, while roaming in the stolen autos, they would commit burglaries in locked houses during the night hours. Hailing from the Suryapet and Kodad regions, the gang members picked up an elderly woman in an auto rickshaw on the 06.03.2026 near the outskirts of Koti Nayak Thanda, within the limits of the Atmakur (S) Mandal police station. After driving her a short distance, they threatened to kill her, covered her mouth to silence her, and stole the silver chain she was wearing around her neck before fleeing the scene. Following this incident, the concerned parties lodged a complaint at the Atmakur Police Station on the 10.03.2026, based on which a case of robbery and theft was registered. As part of the investigation into this case, the District CCS police and the Atmakur police utilized technology to identify the perpetrators and monitor their movements. At approximately 6:00 AM on 14.03.2026, while police personnel led by the CCS Inspector and the Atmakur SI were conducting checks at the Enubamula village stage within the Atmakur Mandal limits, four suspicious individuals were observed traveling towards Nimmikal in an auto rickshaw bearing the registration number TS 29 T 1190. The police intercepted them, conducted a search, and took them into custody. The individuals were identified as Kanchukommula Santosh (A1), Kanchukommula Ganesh (A2), and Kanchukommula Saikiran (A4) all residents of Rajiv Nagar, Kodad and Shaik Nasreen (A3), a resident of Suryapet. Upon interrogation, they confessed to having previously committed thefts involving gold jewellery, silver ornaments, silver articles, auto rickshaws, motorcycles, and mobile phones within the jurisdictions of the Munagala, Suryapet Town, Kodad Town, Thipparthi, Piduguralla, Mellacheruvu, Film Nagar, and Panjagutta police stations. Consequently, they were formally taken into custody, and the police seized from them assets worth a total of Rs.12.5 lakhs, including 18 grams of gold (valued at Rs.3 lakhs), 1.5 kilograms of silver (valued at Rs.5 lakhs), three auto rickshaws (valued at Rs.4 lakhs), a tablet, a laptop, a motorcycle, a television set, and two mobile phones.
Details of Seized Property: 18 grams of gold valued at Rs. 3 lakhs; 1.5 kg of silver valued at Rs. 5 lakhs; 3 auto-rickshaws valued at Rs. 4 lakhs; a tablet valued at Rs. 50; a laptop; 1 bike valued at Rs. 30,000; 1 TV valued at Rs. 25,000; and 3 cell phones valued at Rs. 30.
Relationship among the accused: A1 Kanchukommula Santosh and A4 Kanchukommula Sai Kiran are biological brothers. A2 Kanchukommula Ganesh is the cousin (uncle’s son) of A1 and A4. A3 Shaik Nasreen is the wife of A1 Kanchukommula Santosh. In this case, A5 a juvenile offender is the younger brother of A3 Shaik Nasreen.
Criminal history of the accused: It was identified that A1 Kanchukommula Santosh has 9 cases registered against him within the jurisdictions of the Kodad Town, Kodad Rural, Vemulapalli, Nidamanuru, and Khammam Three Town Police Stations. It was identified that A2 Kanchukommula Ganesh has 2 cases registered against him in Kodad Town and 1 case in the Nidamanuru Police Station. It was identified that A4 Kanchukommula Sai Kiran has 2 cases registered against him in the Kodad Town Police Station.
