NOB- Bhadradri Kothagudem news: Contractor Kalaparthi Srinu (50) from Motlagudem village in the mandal area committed suicide by consuming pesticide in the early hours of 06.09.2025. The details related to the incident are as follows. The deceased Kalaparthi Srinu and former Municipal Chairman of Illendu in Bhadradri Kothagudem district (currently Congress leader) Dammalapati Venkateswara Rao (DV) belong to the same social class. Also they are brothers-in-law. For the last two decades, financial transactions have been going on with both of them and some others. Kalaparthi Seenu has invested in several development contract works in the Illendu constituency as well as the municipality. For some time now, differences have arisen between the brothers-in-law over financial transactions. Due to this, discussions were also held with the elders several times. As part of this, on 05.09.2025 night, they discussed their financial transactions in the presence of some people in Khammam town. Distraught that he did not get justice in these discussions, Galaparthi Srinu committed suicide by consuming pesticide in his car. Angered by this, the family members and relatives of the deceased Srinu took his body to the house of Dammalapati Venkateswara Rao (DV) and kept it in the premises and started a protest. In this context, the relatives broke the windows of the DV’s house and the car windows demanding justice for the family of the deceased. The police who reached the scene of the incident discussed with the protesters and shifted the body to the Illendu Government Hospital for postmortem. Galaparthi Srinu’s wife, Galaparthi Rama, filed a complaint at the Karepally police station on 06.09.2025, demanding action against the reasons for her husband’s suicide. They demanded action against those responsible.
