
NOB-Kamareddy news: Speaking on the occasion, Kamareddy MLA Katipalli Venkata Ramana Reddy said that no one had expected 15 cm of rain in Kamareddy, resulting in floods. He expressed his grief that such a situation has come to light. He said that there was no loss of life as all the people were in their homes on the festival day, and the flow of the 30-meter stream had flowed 300 meters. He said that the capacity of one pond overflowed to the point of filling four ponds, and that he had been talking to the irrigation officials from time to time during the floods. Water entered houses in all areas of the town except the Collectorate, and the first floor of GR Colony was filled. He said that water was 8 feet high in the Housing Board and 4 feet high in Kaundinya Colony. He said that the officials did not work. He said that the allegations that they did not visit the field level were untrue. He said that since 10 am, the entire administration has been in the flood-affected areas, with irrigation officials at the ponds, Panchayat and R&B officials on the roads, municipal officials participating in sanitation activities, and the Collector, SP and ASP also visiting the flood-affected areas. Kamareddy constituency has suffered severe damage, R&B 14 works need Rs 1.79 crore as temporary, Rs. 12 crore for permanent works, Panchayat Raj department needs Rs. 1.00 crore as temporary, Rs. 5 crore for permanent works, Irrigation department needs Rs. 1.00 crore as temporary, Rs. 5 crore for permanent works, Kamareddy Municipality needs Rs. 30 crore, in the constituency, 8771 farmers in 13662 acres are cultivating paddy, 1892 farmers in 26676 acres are cultivating maize, 441 farmers in 577 acres are cultivating cotton, 106 farmers in 126 acres are cultivating soya, 28 farmers in 23 acres are cultivating sugarcane, 16 farmers in 17 acres are cultivating millet, 9 farmers in 13 acres are cultivating have lost a lot of crops. In the entire constituency, 11,843 farmers have lost their crops in 17,104 acres, and the electricity department has lost 15 poles of 33/11 KV, 157 poles of 11 KV, 149 poles of LT lines. He said that approximately 62 lakhs are required for these. He said that there is a flood flow from above the 8-feet high divider at GR Colony. They think that the dividers and lighting collapsed due to the flow of the stream, but he said that he talked to the authorities and got them demolished. He said that the railway track was damaged due to the demolition of the dividers, and even after knowing that, he got them demolished himself. He said that nothing is more important than the lives of the people, and he praised ASP Chaitanya Reddy, who at that time, climbed on top of the JCB and going to monitor flood. He said that it is not right to be harsh towards the people who worked. He said that the NDRF team vehicle overturned at GR Colony, and that the people trapped on the first floor came out after the water flow subsided by 11 pm, and that NDRF teams were sent to rescue the three people trapped in the Chinnamalla Reddy pond and the two people trapped in the Palvancha ravine. He said that it is not right to sit at home and watch TV and talk as you like on social media. I did not sit at home. Even though I went around the entire constituency. I kept talking to the officials. I came back to GR Colony again and again, and in such dire circumstances, an old man who went to bring a goat died in Bibipet, but there was no loss of life due to floods anywhere, he said. It does not matter if they curse me, the people have that right. It is not right to say that the officials did not work, he said. The people who climbed on the water tank say that they did not bring us food. He said that if there is a situation to bring food, why should we think about it on the tank? He said that several voluntary organizations in the town have distributed nearly four thousand food packets, and that the reason for these disastrous conditions is the encroachment of drains and negligent construction. Who made these mistakes? He questioned whether the people were responsible for this. He said that the entire stream was cut by bush two months ago, and work is being done at Vidyanagar and Sai Baba Temple. He said that this situation has come about when the work is completed. He said that the national highway work will be completed in two to three days. He said that the entire GR Colony, Kalkinagar, and Housing Board have been encroached upon, and that a complete survey will be conducted in two months and irregularities will be removed from all the houses. He said that he is grateful to the officials who have served the people by refraining from food distribution for three days in the disastrous conditions.
