NOB_Polling starts in 21 states

NOB-New Delhi news: Polling for the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections has started on 19.042024. Polling for 102 Lok Sabha seats in 21 states and Union Territories is going on under the first phase. In this phase, a total of 1600 candidates will contest and 16 crore 63 lakh voters will determine their future. The Election Commission has set up 1 lakh 87 thousand polling stations for voting. In the first phase, 8.4 crore men, 8.23 crore women and 11,371 others will exercise their right to vote. The general election process will end on June 1st 2024. Counting will be held on June 4th 2024. Central forces have been deployed for the smooth running of the election process. Among the states where the Lok Sabha first phase elections are being held, Tamil Nadu has 39 seats, Uttarakhand has 5 seats, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Manipur have 2 seats each. Andaman and Nicobar, Mizoram, Nagaland, Puducherry, Sikkim and Lakshadweep have one seat each. Elections in these states and Union Territories will be completed in the first phase itself.
