
NOB- Rachakonda news: The Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, led by G.Sudheer Babu IPS, has successfully apprehended a gang involved in temple thefts. A summary of the incident given below.
Arrested Individuals: The police arrested two main accused, Sivanantha and Sharif, who are from Andhra Pradesh. They were involved in stealing panchaloha idols from temples in the Yacharam, Ibrahimpatnam, and Abdullapurmet police station limits.
Modus Operandi: The accused would steal motorcycles, including one from Uppal, to carry out their nefarious activities. They would commit crimes under the influence of alcohol and sell the stolen idols to a person named Kranti Kumar from Uppal, who was also arrested.
Targeting Temples: The gang specifically targeted temples in the outskirts of the city, focusing on those without CCTV cameras. The police emphasized the importance of installing CCTV cameras in every temple to prevent such incidents.
Recovered Property: The police seized a total of 61 kgs of stolen property worth Rs.5 lakhs.
