Anganwadi workers problems should be solved- CITU

NOB- Nandyala district news: Andhra Pradesh Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union District President Shebharani, CITU District Assistant Secretary T.Sivaram, Mandal and Town Presidents P. Ramanjaneyulu, N, Srikanth demanded on 15.06.2023 that a dharna program was held near the local ICDS office under the chairmanship of Mandal Secretary NK Nagalakshmi to resolve the problems of the Anganwadi workers. On this occasion, they said that Jaganmohan Reddy’s promise to increase the wages of Anganwadis more than Telangana, protect ICDS, provide job security to Anganwadis, pension, PF , ESI, retirement benefit of five lakhs, pension of half the salary, government welfare schemes should be implemented for Anganwadis, age limit for promotion of helpers should be increased to 50 years, political interference in promotions should be stopped, mini centers with population exceeding 300 should be converted into main centers, medical leave facility with pay should be provided.They demanded that when in service if died then to one of the family members of those who died in India should be given a job, insurance should be implemented, quality food should be supplied to the beneficiaries, and the quantity of oil and pulses should be increased. In the current period, the prices of petrol, diesel, gas and essential commodities have increased many times due to the anti-people policies of the government. They expressed their displeasure that the wages are not being increased accordingly. In 2018, the central government had announced an increase of wage of 1500 for Anganwadi workers, 750 for helpers, and 1250 for mini worker, but it has not been implemented so far. TA bills have not been given since 2017. They complained that even though equal pay and gratuity should be implemented for work, it has not been implemented so far and the burden of work has been increased by introducing various apps. Anganwadis have been pushed into a situation where they have to invest in the maintenance of the centers.Many people are insulting and harassing them in the name of visits. The proof of this is the ruthless killing of Hanumayamma in the Tanguturu project of Prakasam district by political factions. In the background of the fact that there is no direction to give at least the cost of land, the Anganwadi issues are have to be resolved immediately as part of the all-India protests on July 10th and 11th 2023. It was clarified that agitation programs are being organized at the collector’s offices on the occasion of the day. Later senior assistant Eswariah was handed over a memorandum with the goals.
